What is fiscalization?

Fiscalization is the set of legal requirements tax authorities place on point-of-sale and booking software: transactions must be recorded so they canโ€™t be altered or hidden after the fact, and, increasingly, reported to the tax authority in real time or near real time. Governments introduced these rules to close the โ€œVAT gapโ€ revenue lost to under-reported sales and every market sets its own certification body, technical standard, and reporting cadence.

How it works within Trybe

Every transaction processed through Trybe is captured with the data local law requires, signed and certified to that countryโ€™s technical standard, and reported to (or held ready for) the relevant tax authority on the schedule that market demands. To support this across multiple regulatory regimes, Trybe integrates with specialist fiscal middleware providers that handle the country-specific certification, signing, and reporting logic. This enables properties to operate through a single platform that meets the fiscal requirements of each market, while allowing Trybe to expand into new countries by integrating with additional certified fiscal middleware as required.

Where we are today

Fiscalization requirements and our certification status vary by market and are evolving quickly. This reflects our current roll-out status as of publication.
